Pool Dig-Out & Decking

Adapt completed a pool dig-out, retaining walls and pool deck for a private client in Grey Lynn.

About the client

The client, located in Grey Lynn, Auckland, was referred to Adapt Landscaping through word of mouth, seeking a comprehensive transformation of their backyard space.

Overview

The project unfolded in two phases. The first phase involved extensive groundwork to prepare the site for the installation of a container pool. Notably, seven retaining walls were constructed to both shape the landscape and facilitate the installation process. Our planning also considered the need to navigate around existing utilities and the preservation of a well-established Nīkau tree.

Phase one highlights

  1. Ground preparation: The wild, overgrown landscape was tamed, creating a conducive environment for the upcoming construction work.

  2. Retaining wall installation: Seven retaining walls were integrated to contour the land and provide structural support.

  3. Pool placement: Precision was exercised to enable the lifting of a container pool over the fence, utilising the neighbour's driveway.

Phase two implementation

With the groundwork complete, the project transitioned to its second phase upon the successful delivery of the pool. This stage focused on refining the aesthetics and functionality of the outdoor space.

Phase two highlights

  1. Hardwood deck construction: A durable and aesthetically pleasing hardwood deck was meticulously crafted to enhance the pool area.

  2. Safety fence installation: Prioritising safety, a protective fence was erected around the pool perimeter.

  3. Landscaping: General landscaping efforts were employed to assimilate the pool area with the surrounding environment.

Client satisfaction and future engagements

The successful completion of the project left the client highly satisfied, leading to the initiation of discussions for future endeavours.
