Northcote Bollards

Adapt was contracted by Piritahi to carry out bollard installations for the Northcote Kāinga Ora project.

Project Overview

Adapt was contracted to execute a comprehensive installation of 120 bollards to enhance the perimeter of the newly developed sports park situated on Lake Road.

Scope of work


  1. Breaking out existing concrete

    • Identified and removed existing concrete obstacles to facilitate the installation of bollards.

    • Employed industry-standard methods to minimize disruption and ensure safety during the demolition process.

  2. Digging out the trench

    • Executed precise excavation to create trenches for the installation of bollards.

    • Adhered to project specifications and guidelines to achieve optimal depth and alignment for the trenches.

  3. Filling punch pads

    • Utilised suitable materials to fill punch pads, ensuring a stable foundation for the bollards.

    • Applied industry best practices to guarantee durability and longevity of the installed punch pads.

  4. Installing bollards

    • Methodically positioned and secured 120 bollards in accordance with project plans and specifications.

    • Implemented rigorous quality control measures to guarantee the integrity and uniformity of the bollard installations.

  5. Pouring the mowing strip

    • Poured and finished the mowing strip to complement the bollard installation and enhance the overall aesthetic of the sports park.

    • Applied finishing techniques to achieve a smooth and visually appealing surface for the mowing strip.

Challenges and solutions


  • Identified and addressed potential challenges such as soil conditions, existing infrastructure, and weather constraints to ensure the successful completion of the project.
